There are music schools and music recording schools; it’s easy to be confused. Sometimes a music school will add a music recording course or two as part of their music education curriculum, giving students who are studying music performance or music composition a surface-level glimpse into music production techniques.

But, CRAS – The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences is different, because it is one of the best music production schools in the world. At CRAS students learn the technology and techniques needed to get a job in the music, live sound and broadcast recording industries.

The CRAS campus has two locations, with 8 full-blown recording studios between them. And, it’s not just studios. There are labs where students learn and practice mixdown techniques and signal flow. A Pro Tools lab where you learn the ins and outs, tips and tricks of the single most important piece of recording software in use today. In fact, CRAS was the first music recording school to certify its graduates on Pro Tools (this certification is also acknowledged and authorized by Pro Tools itself!). Besides the Pro Tools certification, there are almost 20 certifications in all; to make sure CRAS grads are confident in their skills and ready to work!

Both CRAS locations are open 24/7. And, unlike other schools that might “bump” student projects for commercial work, all of CRAS’s facilities are reserved for study, workshops and sessions, by students and only students! There’s even a 6,000 sq/foot live sound venue where students learn the art of audio engineering for live concerts and other events.

CRAS classes are small and intimate. There is a maximum of 12 students per class so they fill up quickly. That’s 48 students per start date, and 800 only per year. So if you think you have “it” and are ready to follow your dream of a career in sound engineering, you can stop looking for other music recording schools... you’re ready to Be CRAS™.
