The Lab is where you get the opportunity to practice and perfect your craft.

Besides class time, students can reserve time in the labs for after hour’s sessions to further hone their skills or work on projects. Each lab focuses on a specific technique or technology and is set up with individual workstations giving each student maximum “seat time.”

Digital Labs

CRAS Digital Labs

Each digital lab is equipped with a variety of electronic instruments which can interface with your Laptop Recording Package. Experiment with analog and digital tone generators and get hands-on with different hardware controllers by mix and matching various gear into larger systems.

CRAS Pro Tools Labs

When the first version of Sound Designer, what was to eventually become Pro Tools, was introduced in 1984, nobody thought that one day it would become the ubiquitous force it is today. 1991 saw the introduction of what we now know as Pro Tools. CRAS saw and understood the potential of this new way of recording and as early as 1993 was offering instruction in its use, becoming the first audio recording school to be an authorized training center.

Today, Pro Tools is the industry-leading recording software program and can be found in every studio, live venue or post house… and CRAS offers six tiers of Pro Tools certifications insuring its graduates are ready to roll.
