Course Outline
The majority of the CRAS curriculum is dedicated
to music and audio production. The CRAS Master
Recording Program is a 41 credit hour program, taught over 42 weeks and includes 12 weeks of internship hours. Classes meet Monday through Friday for four hours per day with additional hours on scheduled Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Certifications
The best way to demonstrate expertise in any field is through certification on the applications and gear that are used in the industry. This principle holds especially true in the audio recording industry. CRAS graduates are certified in a wide variety of important technologies encompassing all facets of the recording process.
Guest Lecturers
The Conservatory places great emphasis on
our relationships with the recording and audio
community at large. At CRAS we invite a wide
variety of audio professionals to lecture onsite.
Our roster of guest speakers ranges from
manufacturers, engineers, studio managers,
live sound professionals, educators and more.
Internship
A requirement for graduation, the CRAS Internship Program is the only one of its kind in U.S. audio education. This program gives students the
opportunity to gain a real world studio perspective on what they’ve learned – increasing confidence and providing a foot in the door to an industry that has become increasingly selective when choosing prospective employees.
Faculty
The everyday touchstone of your CRAS experience is our Faculty. A great source of pride, this diverse group of industry professionals has produced and or engineered a collective body of work that includes; platinum, gold and Grammy award winning albums, soundtracks for movies and TV, video game soundscapes and corporate audio environments… in numbers and in genres too numerous to mention individually.
