Over the past five years or so, computers have become the primary way that music is created. Many hit singles have been produced using Pro Tools, Logic, Reason, Ableton Live or any number of incredible applications. The Conservatory has recognized and responded to this paradigm shift. The digital labs at both locations give our students plenty of time to sit down and work with Emagic’s Logic Pro , one the most important and sophisticated applications used in music production. Logic is completely self-contained, enabling the sophisticated sequencing of a suite of powerful virtual instruments, not to mention the highly developed ability to record acoustical instruments in sync with the MIDI sequence. Advanced mixing enables the user to bring it all together into one excellent product. The digital labs are very popular after hours since the students can sit down and create a completed product in one fell swoop.
