CRAS grads and students recently headed to Tucson, AZ for the Potluck audio conference at the Hilton resort. The conference brings audio pros, manufacturers and dealers together for networking, demos, panels and music. Manufacturers and dealers onsite included Universal Audio, Kush Audio, A Designs, Independent Audio Focal, Empirical Labs, Lauten Audio, Drawmer, Tube-Tech, Manley, Daking, TransAudio Group, Bock Audio, audio-technica, Royer, Mojave, Shure, Great River, AEA and more.
Attendees roamed the show floor, private listening casitas and attended panels on mixing, mastering and other hot industry topics. The event brought engineers from across the country who were on hand for panels and general chit-chat on the floor. “Potluck is like no other audio event,” said Kevin Becka, CRAS director of Education and Technical Editor of Mix Magazine. “Events like this and Mix’s yearly Nashville event offer attendees a level of access that is impossible to get at AES, NAMM or NAB. Students were able to listen to gear in an intimate setting and get their questions answered directly from engineers, manufacturers and dealers.”
