Watch composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, re-recording mixer Michael Semanick and sound designer Ren Klyce comment on their experience while making the film. CRAS students are trained in Post Production where they learn the basics of sound design, Foley, dialog replacement, synchronization, scoring and 5.1 mixing for film.

Chris Estes of Endless Analog

Chris Estes of Endless Analog spent a few days visiting CRAS at the end of March 2010. While on cacmpus Estes provided hands-on demonstrations and discussions about his companies innovative product CLASP. CLASP is a sytem that bridges digital audio workstations and analog multi-track recorders to take advantage of the best of what both technologies have to offer. Working with Conservatory technician Jeff Harris, Estes used CLASP to merge Studio A’s Studer A827 analog recorder and the Pro Tools 8 HD system to work as a singular system. This high-end system from Australia offers full HD video and hi-res audio production at a fraction of the price of other workstations. It’s based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology currently used in consoles from Digico and Calrec.
