Grammy Awards Show Uses Audio Technica Mics for the 16th Straight Year

“For the 16th year in a row, Audio-Technica microphones appeared on the Grammy Awards Show, known throughout the industry as Music’s Biggest Night.

This year, the 55th Annual GRAMMYs, held February 10, 2013, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, featured a wide selection of artists from various genres of music.

For the live show and broadcast, Audio-Technica supplied more than 250 hard-wired microphones and Artist Elite 5000 Series UHF wireless systems.”

More on the gear used for the 55th GRAMMY awards here!

For anyone interested in recording or live sound, mic selection is one of the most important keys to getting a great sound. There are hundreds of different mic manufacturers, and countless models of mics. Tube, ribbon, dynamic, cardioid, omni, wireless, handheld and piezo are just a few terms that outline the different types of mics, and each type of mic has its own application. Some are great for getting a fat kick drum, while others are better at catching high frequencies floating out of a violin.

CRAS has a massive mic collection, including Neumann, AKG, Audio-Technica, Royer, Shure and Earthworks, just to name a few.
