Tempe Studio A

The Conservatory’s A Room at Tempe is a tunable, acoustically proper live-end/dead-end environment. The studio proper features two isolation rooms, a small one for vocals, and a larger one (which includes a Foley pit), intended for drums and other larger instruments. The A Room is double-floated for maximum isolation.

The console in the Tempe A Room is a Solid State Logic 4056-G-Plus+with 48 inputs. This console has an interesting history. During its previous life at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, California, it was used to track and mix records for Metallica (Load, Reload, and Garage, Inc.), Primus (Pork Soda & Rhinoplasty), Michael Bolton (Time, Love, & Tenderness), Mariah Carey (Emotions), and many others, including Kenny G, G3, E-40, and Too $hort.
