Mixdown Labs
Conservatory students are found working on all kinds of projects in the mixdown labs at all hours. The idea is to simply gain practice recording and mixing outside regular class hours. Of course, all the Conservatory’s labs are used for class, but they’re used as much or more by students on evenings and weekends. The mixdown labs are intended to give the students experience tracking and mixing on their own. They feature mixers, outboard processors, and digital multi-track recording machines, and afford a nice opportunity for the students to work on many projects, including their own. Conservatory students study for 15 weeks at one location, then 15 weeks at the other, but they are welcome to use the labs at either location, any time they are available.
